Young Carers

When I grow up....
Today we came to school wearing something linked to what we would like to be when we grow up. The aspirations of our children are very varied, I saw doctors, teachers, photographers, architects and even a paleontologist. At the beginning of the year we asked the children where their wings would take them. Today, the children showed that their wings will take them to a fantastic future. We also talked about the importance of following your aspirations and not letting anyone stop you from striving for your dream job.
This was part of celebrating Warwickshire Young Carers day and raising awareness of the important work of this charity. It supports children and families where a child may be taking on extra responsibilities as a carer at home. Mrs Counihan is currently creating a list of our Young Carers in school.
