Otter Class Assembly

Otter Class Assembly

This week, we had the pleasure of watching Otter Class assembly which showcased  some of their learning from this half term. It was a fantastic opportunity to see the breadth and depth of their understanding.

The assembly opened with their Maafa project, in which the class explored the triangular slave trade. Their moving monologues, imagining the plight of those who were enslaved, brought a tear to the eye. The empathy and understanding shown in their writing was truly impressive. The movement of ships across the sea had inspired their artwork. Children described exploring tints, tones and shade to create effective sea effects. Their pieces of art demonstrated great care and attention to detail.

For Science, the class talked about the circulatory system and explained the function of each part of the heart. Their understanding was brought to life by exploring lamb hearts, which gave them valuable practical experience.

The assembly concluded with a demonstration of pupils' fluency in French as they ordered food in a café, showing real confidence in the language.

Congratulations to every member of Otter class for creating a superb assembly where the children spoke with clarity and confidence throughout.
