Year 3/4 Dodgeball Competition

On a rainy Friday, a team of pupils attended the NWPSSA dodgeball competition at Kingsbury Community Centre. The team demonstrated their best dodging, ducking, dipping, diving and dodging and showed great teamwork throughout the event. There were many close games and event the spectators had to watch out for any balls coming their way!
Oakfield Shield

Last week, our year 4/5 football team competed brilliantly at the Oakfield Shield competition. The team drew every game but were dominant and had chances to win every game they played. They finished with 3 draws which meant the team finished runners up. The team showed excellent teamwork, respect and ability in every game.

Dodgeball Final 5/6

We also had representation in the 5/6 dodgeball final, with our team managing to make it out of the heats to compete in the final. There was lots of dodging, ducking, dipping, diving and dodging, as the team ended up finishing in 6th place. Well done to everyone who took part and thank you to Mr Whitehead for supporting with the team!
Ricketts Shield and Girls Indoor Football

W/C 20th April has been a footballing week for our pupils. We started off the week on Tuesday competing in the Ricketts Shield football tournament with year 1 and 2 pupils representing the school. The team had a great enthusiasm, willingness to try new positions and skills and definitely improved as the tournament progressed.

On Friday, a team of year 4 girls travelled to Kingsbury for an indoor football tournament. The girls demonstrated a great care for their teammates and opposition and really impressed with their performance. Each match was extremely close with the team starting with a 0-0 draw against the eventual champions, then conceding 2 goals late in the second game to lose 3-2 and finally, narrowly being defeated in their last game 1-0. Despite the overall standings, the team played brilliantly together and demonstrated some amazing skills!
Old Salts 7-a-side Tag Rugby Tournament

On Wednesday, 9 pupils represented school in a 7-a-side tag rugby tournament at Old Salts RFC. The children performed brilliantly with an excellent representation of our one word school rule of respect throughout the tournament epitomised by one pupil telling the ref he hadn't scored a try when the ref had already given it in his favour. The children improved brilliantly throughout the competition demonstrated by 2 wins in our final 2 games to finish in an overall third position. Well done to all of the pupils who took part and thank you to parents for supporting our participation.
