Rockstars Day

Today our school was filled with the excitement of mathematics as we took part in 'Numbers Day'. The children came to school dressed as rockstars.

The day started with an assembly led by Mrs Jones, our mathematics lead. During the assembly she introduced a competition for all the children in school. The challenge was to write down the lowest unique number. I am pleased to announce that the winning number was 18 which was chosen by Emily. Well done Emily!

Numbers day this year was based on the book 'The Lion's Share' by Matthew McElligott. The book is filled with many opportunities for maths activities including fractions, sharing, doubles and halves. The children shared their learning during an assembly this week. They loved linking their learning to a book. During the day, each class used the iPads to access Times Tables Rock Stars or Numbots. Login details have been sent home so the children can continue their learning at home.
