This week, we have been taking part in British Science Week. As part of this, the whole school have been learning about significant scientists, taking part in investigations and finding the average height for each class. Here are the investigations each class have been involved in:
Grey Squirrel - investigating shadows and bean investigations
Red Squirrel - planting seeds, observing flowers and exploring plant partners
Owl - exploring polar bear blubber and other materials for keeping polar bears warm
Fox - investigating rocks
Badger - investigating how a glacier moves
Otter - exploring the link between age and height
Throughout history, scientist have explored the world and beyond and changed the world we live in. This week we have learned about, Isaac Newton, Mary Anning, Tim Peake and Francis Beaufort. If you would like to know more ask your child what they have been learning.
On Wednesday, we entered a team into 'The Big CAT Science Quiz'. This was an event attended by other schools in our Trust. The children represented Wood End brilliantly answering a range of science questions. They each received a certificate and badge in assembly today. Well done to Elsie, Louie, Hope and Harry.
