#HelloYellow
Today Wood End Primary was filled with a splash of cheerful yellow and plenty of smiles as we marked World Mental Health Day. We know that looking after our mental health is just as important as our physical health. #HelloYellow aims to raise awareness of young people’s mental health and more importantly, aims to demonstrate to all young people with mental health issues that they are not alone. If you would like more information about #HelloYellow please visit the Young Minds website https://www.youngminds.org.uk/.
At Wood End Primary we are always looking for ways to support our children with both their physical and mental health. Our newly appointed Health Champions are currently planning their first assembly talking about emotions and who to ask for help when we need it. We always talk to children about their Early Warning Signs, the way our body feels when we have a problem, and the people on their network who can support them. Even some of the youngest children in school can name someone on their network.
We all have feelings but sometimes we need help to deal with those feelings in a safe way and find strategies that help us to feel better. If you would like additional information and support with mental health, please look on our website under the tab 'Mental Health and Wellbeing'
Thank you to all the people who wore yellow today - you helped to raise awareness of World Mental Health Day.
